To provide instruction and guidance on independent living skills to adults with intellectual developmental disabilities
Community Classroom Day Activity Living Skills Program
Support
This program is supported jointly by Group Homes of Forsyth and the Compensatory Education Program of Forsyth Technical Community College.
Criteria for Participants
- Must have an intellectual developmental disability.
- Must either be living in an independent setting in the community or show a good potential to eventually live more independently or desire to increase skills.
- Must have adequate social and learning skills to participate in a classroom setting of up to fifteen students.
- Must be able to access the Community Class location at 8064 North Point Blvd. Ste. 201, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 by way of the city bus system or have an independent source of transportation to and from classes. At present, the class is comprised of individuals living on their own, with family or in group home settings.

- Community Preparation
- Health & Safety Issues
- Consumer Education Community
- Job Preparation & Employment Skills
