Our Admissions
Our
two-tier admissions process is geared to finding the people
who will benefit most from our program, and more importantly,
those who want to participate. All applicants are admitted
only on a voluntary basis.
As a contract
agency with Forsyth,Stokes Mental Health Authority, Group
Homes of Forsyth, Inc. has an working agreement with the Mental
Health
Authority which affects our admission and discharge process.
Insuring that all candidates are evaluated by consistent standards
is important. So anyone applying to one of our group homes
or other residential programs must be screened through the
Single Portal Entry structure set up by the local Mental Health
Authority.
Final selection of
candidates is based on an applicant's needs, their compatibility
with our program and their potential for growth and development.
Admission includes a written agreement between the agency and
resident (and/or parent or guardian of the resident). The agreement
outlines the duties and responsibilities of the resident and
the agency and gives detailed information on the grievance
and discharge policy.
